How We Work
From the first drawing to your first steam, the plan stays clear and the price stays set.
1. Full inspection before any price
Before we price anything, we go through the sauna: heater and stones, benches, wood, seal, and airflow. We find what is wrong, trace it back to the cause, and hand you a clear, item-by-item list. Whatever is still good, we leave alone.
2. Same-day repair where possible
We stock the van with whatever fails most often: stones, heater elements, sealant, and the sanding and oiling kit. That covers the majority of tune-ups and repairs before we leave the driveway. Anything needing a special order gets scheduled and priced with you before we touch it.
3. Matched materials, new-build finish
Replacement boards, oil, and stone are matched to the existing material so nothing reads as a patch. The finish standard is the one we hold on a new build, and the room is swept and ready to fire when we go.
When You Need Sauna Maintenance & Repair
A sauna gives you warning before it quits. Call when you see any of this:
- Slow or weak heat. If it crawls to temperature or will not pass 170°F, it is usually the heater, the stones, or the sealing.
- White crust on the heater or the stones. Our water is hard, and that scale blocks the heat and flattens the steam.
- Gaps opening between boards, or a door that will not seal. Dry summer air shrinks wood, and a leaky door bleeds heat.
- Gray, rough, or splintery benches. Sun and dry air pull the oil out of cedar, and sanding and oiling brings it back.
- Dusty or blocked vents. A dry season fills them fast, and the room goes stuffy once the air stops moving.
- A year or more of use. Even a good sauna wants a yearly wood and heater check, more so if it sits outside in full sun.
- You inherited one with the house. We will inspect it end to end, hand you a written condition report, and bring it back to safe operation.

What Affects the Cost of Sauna Maintenance & Repair
We price each repair off what we actually find, so there is no flat rate. These are the pieces that move it:
- Scope. A tune-up with fresh stones is a fraction of a bench rebuild, and we will say outright which items can wait a season.
- The heater. Availability varies by manufacturer, and discontinued or imported units take longer to source.
- The shape of the wood. A sand and oil is quick. Pulling and replacing dried or split boards is a bigger job.
- Scale and water. Heavy buildup can mean new elements and new stones instead of a cleaning.
- Vents and sealing. Fixing bad vents sometimes means opening a wall. It costs more now and saves the wood later.
- The yearly plan. One flat annual fee covers the routine care, and it tends to pay for itself the first time we catch something small.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will you service a sauna you did not build?
Gladly. Other people’s builds make up the bulk of our service calls, everything from imported Finnish cabins to flat-pack units out of a warehouse store. Age and brand do not matter. We diagnose it, quote it, and get it safe.
What is the right service interval?
Once a year is the rule, and twice for an outdoor sauna in full sun. Dry heat and hard water do their damage slowly, and a yearly check heads off the big repairs.
Will one trip cover it?
Usually. We come stocked with the common parts, so most calls finish that day. Full rebuilds and special-order parts need a second trip, which we schedule up front.
What does the annual plan cover?
One visit a year: the heater and stones checked, scale cleaned off, wood sanded and oiled, vents and seal checked, and the door adjusted. One set price, and it catches small problems while they are still small.
The heater barely warms up. Repair or replace?
Repair, most times. Weak output traces back to a spent element, scaled stones, or a failed seal, and each of those is a fix rather than a replacement. We meter it and tell you straight if a new heater is the better spend.
